Love’s Gone South

I just got my pictures back
From the local photo mat
The first one is the two of us smiling on Miami Beach
With two straws and a colored drink
At the time I didn’t think
That bright sun in the background was soon to set on her and me

Chorus
I can picture her drivin’ with that rag top down
Just passin’ through some Georgia town
Don’t she know she’s draggin’ my heart around, headin’ to Jacksonville
By dusk she’ll reach Daytona Beach
Yeah she picked Miami over Tennessee
Don’t know what went wrong
But here’s proof that love’s gone south

So much for a subtle hint
Man I hate those double prints
Now that I’m out of the picture and barely in a single frame
There’s 12 of her and that Raul
The lifeguard at the hotel pool
He ‘s even in the one when she blew out her birthday cake

Chorus
I can picture her drivin’ with that rag top down
Wonder what she’s thinkin’ ‘bout now
Don’t she know she’s draggin’ my heart around, drivin’ thru Jacksonville
Tomorrow she’ll reach West Palm Beach
Yeah she picked Miami over Tennessee
Don’t know what went wrong
But here’s proof that love’s gone south

Bridge
Two weeks, still no call
But her postcard says it all

Chorus
The weather here is 85
This is long overdue hope you’re doin’ fine
I should have called to say goodbye, drivin’ through Jacksonville
It’s just something I had to do
But I’m sorry to choose Miami over you
Love me and Raul…
Well, there’s proof that love’s gone south
